…now I’m even more sure of myself that I will never take any drugs.

These are a few of the comments students wrote after a lecture in a California Continuation High School on Jan 26, 2010 in response to the question, “Did your thoughts about drugs change after hearing this talk?”:

When one of your friends thing they can solve their problems by doing drugs, this talk will make them see that their problems will only get worse.      9th Grade

My thoughts about drugs changed because I thought it was cool when my friends would drugs and now I know it’s not cool.      9th Grade

Yes, now I am a lot less willing to ever risk taking drugs. I now know the dangers of not just addiction , but the damage taking one drug can cause.       10th Grade

My thoughts changed (after this talk). I’ve never taken drugs but all my friends have. So, I have always wanted to try weed just once. But I don’t want anything in myself to go wrong. I think it’s necessary to lead a drug-free life.      9th Grade

Before this talk I was unsure if I should try drugs to see why people like them so much, but now I’m more than sure that I won’t try any of the drugs that people talk so much about.      10th Grade

My thoughts of drugs changed entirely. Because on T.V. there would be people doin drugs as if it was normal, but now I’m even more sure of myself that I will never take any drugs.      9th Grade
